TIPS AND TRICKS FOR PEOPLE COMING TO CROATIA

Hello everyone,
I come from Croatia (Dalmatia) and I notice that many of you have problems and dilemmas about certain issues. Since I live here and travel often, I believe it would be useful to share some important information with you that would also help me when visiting distant destinations.
Since many of you have questions about prices and whether it is really that expensive, here are some useful tips. Of course, there are places that are quite expensive, usually those in well-known locations (Split’s Riva, Trogir’s Riva, Dubrovnik’s old town, etc.), so if you are mindful of your budget, choose other options: food in shopping mall restaurants is usually cheaper, and you have quite okay options (healthy/unhealthy/fast food/restaurant) or choose some fast food and then have a meal in a less famous place or street for a much lower cost.
Also, you often ask which activities and excursions we recommend and what is best to try/visit. As for visits, you definitely need to see Diocletian’s Palace, Krka Waterfalls (the entrance fee in the season is €40, while in April, May, and October it’s €20), climb Marjan for a beautiful view of Dalmatia and nearby islands (free of charge), and I would also recommend going to SkyWalk Biokovo (the entrance fee is only €8) which offers an unforgettable view of the islands. As part of this tour, you can also explore the town of Makarska, have lunch in one of the many excellent restaurants, and swim at some of the most beautiful beaches.
Speaking of beaches, since Split is a very popular destination and I assume most people end up on one of those beaches, local recommendations are the beaches near Omiš where it is usually less crowded: Medići, Lokva Rogoznica, Mimice, and Brela in Makarska, which are perhaps the most beautiful beaches in this part of Croatia. I am attaching pictures below.
Regarding activities, it is highly recommended to take an island trip, visit the Blue Cave, whichever tour you choose, you won’t go wrong, and coming to Croatia and not doing this tour is a sin. Besides that, if you are an adventurous type, definitely try: rafting on the Cetina River, a quad adventure in Dalmatian Zagora, horse riding along the Cetina River, zip-lining, bungee jumping, kayaking on the Cetina, etc.
As for transportation, if you are not coming with your own car or renting a car, Uber is definitely the best and cheapest option. Install the app, and you will have no problems. Besides that, in Split, you can also choose public transport.
That’s all from me for now, I hope it will be useful to someone. If you have any questions (specific recommendations for restaurants, locations, excursions, etc.) or need additional information, feel free to DM me or email me at djula.kristina593@gmail.com. I promise to respond and help you if I can, and if not, I will ask someone who knows and can help.
